This is the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section of the website. We hope to build this section over time, so please go ahead and e-mail Dave or Mike with your questions. Check back in this section as well, because over time, we'll take old questions off and put new ones on, or re-write answers as we go along.

  • Do real people ask you these questions?
    Mike: Shut up.
Dave: What was your address? We'd like to send you something.

  • How do you create the strip?
Dave: It involves three monkeys, ten typewriters, a banana, a shotgun, a jockstrap, four Orange Creamsickle Slurpees, and the spire of the Empire State Building. Trust us, you DON'T want to know.
Mike: I didn't want to know.

  • Are you single?
    Dave: Yes.
    Mike: Yes.

  • So this is just a way to pick up chicks?
    Dave: Yes.
    Mike: Yes.

  • What are you like in real life?
Mike: I'm a guy who loves movies. That's the only thing I know how to do besides writing: watch a movie. I go to C.W. Post University where I major in Film. If I get lucky, maybe you'll go to a movie one day and see my name at the end of the opening credits. Oh, and I also write EarthBound fanfiction, most notably "EarthBound: The Perpetual Adventures." The website for it should be coming soon.
Dave: By trade, I'm a musician and a youth minister. I play guitar, bass, and piano, and I sing baritone/tenor II where I study choral conducting at Oregon State University. I have my local minister's license in the Corvallis Church of the Nazarene and work with the youth group. By passion, I'm big on people. Ask me about politics or the environment and I'll talk your ears off. Basically, I find it horrifying that our national leaders (in the public and private sector) care nothing about people as people, they only care about people as numbers. Same about the environment.

  • What's the comic about?
Dave: You mean THIS travesty? Basically the Chosen Four are soon to enter college and they move into a house together. Horrible jokes and art ensue.
Mike: We promise it gets better when they start attending classes.
Dave: No we don't. Mike, your rebuttal?
Mike: You're right, we don't. Next question.

  • What are your influences?
Mike: A lot of other webcomics. For me, I go by Brian Clevinger's 8-Bit Theater and Greg Dean's Real Life. Those are my primary influences, but I get plenty of ideas from other places.
Dave: In terms of art, my biggest influence is Bill Amend (creator of FoxTrot). His was the first drawing style I picked up because it's easy. I've leaned a little bit toward Scot Kurtz's (PVP) style too. As for writing, I love PVP, Liberty Meadows (Frank Cho), and Homestar Runner (the Brothers Chaps). I also think Dave Letterman's the bomb.

  • Who does what for the strip/site?
Dave: Well, I program the website, fund the website, draw, come up with basic ideas, and help hammer out workable stuff from Mike's rough drafts.
Mike: Dave takes care of the site. I just contribute to writing when I can.

  • So Dave does all the work, basically?
Mike: No! I come up with all the ideas and Dave just sort of--

  • So you're saying Dave does all the work.
Mike: Well... yeah. But be grateful. I could be doing the drawing, and you DON'T want that to happen.
Dave: Be nice to Mike, guys. The fact is that Mike's much better at coming up with stuff than I am. I couldn't possibly do this without him.

  • Point taken. So what do you two think of each other?
Mike: We're very different, if you think about it. But we have respect for each other, we know what the other is doing. And I think that enables us to work well together and get along fine.
Dave: Mike's an intelligent guy and we both have a passion for producing nothing but quality work. As a result, we work together really well. We understand that neither of us could get this done alone, which really helps.
